The Smarter Home. Delphian Way.

SecuRemote® brings several unique features for OEM products. These features pertain to interoperability with mobile devices, seamless connectivity between devices and cloud applications, high security methods for wireless communication, and powerful control automation for end-users. Such features make SR-enabled products both "Bluetooth Smart" literally, and "Smart" figuratively. The literal term refers to the Bluetooth communication standard that has been adopted by the mobile device community. The figurative term describes the ability to recognize, communicate and interact with users and devices, while applying rule-based functionality.

SecuRemote® makes products "smart" and capable of connecting with everything that is "Bluetooth Smart", everywhere around the globe even without internet IP or Wi-Fi availability.

"Bluetooth® Smart" and "Bluetooth® Smart Ready" are trademarks of Bluetooth SIG, Inc.

Interoperability with Everything

The Simplicity of Working With Anything Smart

SR-enabled products are smart, fully interoperable with one another and fully interoperable with mobile and smart devices.

Making OEM products smart starts with the standardized SecuRemote module - the only device interface required between OEM products and mobile devices supported by the SecuRemote App. Setting up an SR device is as simple as powering it up and pairing it with the user's mobile device. In Online mode pairing is completely automatic and transparent to the user.

Interoperability between mobile devices and SR devices is accomplished through the App. Interoperability goes beyond communication to leverage all OS operational capabilities such as IP Camera Video Streaming, GPS, and Remote Proximity.

More On Interoperability

Backward and Forward Compatibility. The dual mode bridge module supports both Bluetooth Classic and BLE protocols, providing backward compatibility with Android and RIM mobile devices. Android standard support for BLE started in January 2014.

Smart and Smart Ready Devices. Smart devices using BLE, such as keyfobs, sensors, and wrist watches, can be interoperable with SecuRemote provided the OEM communication profile is added to the SecuRemote app. Mobile device platforms and products that support Smart devices are designated as Smart Ready. The proliferation of Smart and Smart Ready devices is creating new and exciting opportunities for OEMs.

IP Camera Support. Because visual confirmation complements remote access control, SecuRemote provides IP Camera support for major OEM products. The SR app allows an IP camera to be assigned to an SR-enabled product and brings the video streaming into the SR app user interface. In home automation applications this value-added feature allows the administrative user to monitor entries or exits operated remotely by themselves, or by an authorized user. In the latter case and as part of control automation features an alert notification on the mobile device can initiate the video monitoring automatically.

Remote Proximity. SecuRemote® devices support automatic connection discovery (entirely transparent to the user), and proximity-based operation control where an operation can be performed when two devices (i.e. a smartphone and an SR device) come within a preset proximity distance of each other. This feature adds convenience and security where near field communication is required, such as entry doors and safes.

Seamless Connectivity Everywhere

The Simplicity of One

Seamless Connectivity

Depending on the application or user preferences, connectivity is switched and established seamlessly and automatically. So everywhere there is a smartphone or internet-enabled mobile device there is a global network!

SecuRemote-enabled products communicate and interoperate wirelessly with smart mobile devices both directly (device-to-device), and/or via the cloud. Depending on the application or user preferences, connectivity is switched and established seamlessly and automatically. So everywhere there is a smartphone or internet-enabled mobile device there is a global network!

All-In-One Network

SecuRemote brings to OEMs and their customers the simplicity of a contiguous local and global network where SR-enabled products connect and communicate automatically with:

  • Mobile devices within Bluetooth range
  • One another, forming a Bluetooth mesh network that supports dozens of device connections over long distances
  • The cloud, through a mobile device or a SecuRemote® bridge
All-In-One Network

Multi-Device LAN Topology

SecuRemote® devices and products form automatically a Bluetooth network with a proprietary topology layer that allows them to communicate with one another as part of a local area network. The innovative SR topology brings mesh network capability that can support hundreds of device connections over long distances. Unique connectivity features that provide extraordinary application simplicity and flexibility are:

  • Manual or Automatic Connection. Within Bluetooth range products establish connection and authentication with a mobile device either by user request (by launching the SR app), or automatically (by automatic wireless connection).
  • Proximity Distance. Within wireless range and upon authentication an SR device can operate only within a preset distance from a mobile device. The proximity distance can be application and/or user-defined.

All-In-One Module

The standardized Smart module is the only device interface required between OEM products and mobile devices. The SR bridge has been architected in a modular manner that allows multiple product applications with different requirements for power management (battery or full power), I/O types, and interfaces.

Setting up an SR device is as simple as powering it up and pairing it with the user's mobile device.

In Online mode pairing is completely automatic and transparent to the user.

All In One Device

High Security All The Time

SecuRemote® provides end-to-end wireless communication security using encryption and patent-pending methods and features which combined render the communication virtually unbreakable.

High Security

Experts agree: the easiest way to protect a network from an outside attack is to close it off. SecuRemote devices form a wireless closed and secure network that allows them to communicate with mobile devices, one another, and the cloud.

SecuRemote® provides end-to-end wireless communication security using encryption and patent-pending methods and features which combined render the communication virtually unbreakable.

Security Features

Closed and Secure Network. Wireless communication between all devices is a closed wireless network that uses Bluetooth with an SR mesh-type proprietary layer. The intermittent transmission of the Bluetooth protocol along with other Bluetooth and SecuRemote security features severely limit the risk of transmission interception, render "message replay" threats impossible even after interception, and make hacking exposure virtually impossible.

User Identity. User identity for mobile device users is tied not only to user information including name, password, phone number, and email address but also to the specific device authorized for that user. The unique identity of a mobile device is established through a proprietary security token encoding process transparent to the user.

Encryption. All communication between the smartphone and SR devices utilize Bluetooth 128-bit E0 encryption. Likewise, all communication between the smartphone and the SR Portal utilize 128-bit SSL encryption. Furthermore, sensitive data, such as the "digital key" issued to the device by the SR Portal to authorize access, is further protected using 128-bit AES encryption.

Authentication. Verification of the identity of the individual attempting to operate an SR device is performed by SR portal on the cloud by comparing user identity information and the encrypted security token against the list of authorized users for the SR device on the SR portal account.

Connectivity Control. Security features that control how connectivity is established include the ability to regulate wireless range, proximity distance, and auto-discovery.

Administrative Security. Authorizing or revoking control for users and devices is accomplished in real time from anywhere without the need for Wi-Fi connectivity or even Internet connectivity for SR devices. This is possible because authentication and authorization resides on the SR portal with which an SR device communicates through the user's smartphone. The SR portal is an integrated online service that allows full administrative and security management features that include automatic event notifications.
